“Know thyself.” (Plutarch). I think that this is really true because if you know yourself then you can make better decisions. And you know what tempts you.

I love this quote, and have actually known it before it was posted on here. It means to know your personality, who you are, and who you want to be. This will get you through life much easier by making your needs more apparent and obvious, as well as helping you socially.

To me , I think this quote is trying to make the reader think hard about who they spend their time on . It would be completely pointless to do that becase you may put effort and time on others , but they may not do the same to you . If their not going to respect you and just take advantage of your kindness , then walk away frm them because there are other people who are worth your time ..
